Hail and well met. That's what I think of when I recall my first memory from UO. I was around 12 years old and almost instantly the game caught me. For reference I'm nearly 40 now.
I'm not sure if it was the ability to carve out my own destiny. Or the freedom to pick and choose what my character did. Or the huge fights with order and chaos - later factions, that got my adrenaline going. But I have never, and probably never will ever, play a game quite like this. Even after periods of years of not playing, I DREAM about this game. What's that about?
Anyway - about me - I have a little knowledge of scripting which has been picked up over the years using different software. Easyuo was my go to for a number of years but I have recently started using OrionUO. I love how much faster it works and how much more natural/smooth the scripts run on it.
I'm from the UK and currently play on UOGamers which is a Runuo sever. I recently looked at when my original account was created on there, 21 years ago. That's insane. Over half of my lifetime ago. I reflect on the things that have happened to me as a person in that time period. Some good, a lot of bad. But UO has remained consistent throughout. Perhaps that's why I am yet again drawn back to this game. Maybe I'm chasing that childhood nostalgia. Or maybe I just want to PK some doodz.
